Mohamed Larbi Kerkeb joins Granada’s Academy of Sciences

The appointment of Moroccan professor Mohamed Larbi Kerkeb to Granada’s Academy of Sciences recognizes more than three decades of contribution to higher education, research and international academic cooperation.

A former university president and dean, Kerkeb has promoted a vision of universities prepared to face global transformations, especially in digital innovation and artificial intelligence.

In his lecture on “Artificial Intelligence and Emotions,” he stressed that the main challenge of AI is not only technological progress, but the ability of humans to guide its development responsibly and ethically.

His recognition reflects the growing role of Moroccan expertise in global science and knowledge networks.
