The First International Conference for Students with a Disability Status at Ibn Tufail University under the slogan: The University, Society and Enterprises Solidarity for the Inclusion and Integration of Students with a Disability Status
On the 24th and 25th of February, Ibn Tofail University, at the Presidency of the University of Ibn Tufail in Kenitra, will host the first international conference for students with disabilities. This symposium is organized within the framework of the BISIS project (Development of Facilitation Centers for Students with Disabilities): the university, society and the enterprise are joining forces for the inclusion and integration of students with a disability, which is co-funded by the European Commission within the framework of the Erasmus + program to strengthen capacities in the field of higher education.
This conference will be held in two formats: in attendance, inside the university campus, and remotely, as well, on 24 and 25 February 2021. Key stakeholders - from Europe, Morocco and Egypt - will present many sessions related to disability issues and related good practices, and many workshops will be held. Work, and testimonials about remarkable success stories in the field of information and communication technology. The conference also includes an exhibition of assistive technologies, round tables to exchange ideas and cooperation on issues of education, civil society, and the social responsibility of enterprises towards persons with disabilities and job opportunities, in addition to publishing the results of the "BISIS" project.
This conference will discuss three main axes:
- Developing knowledge and campaigns to raise awareness of all parties involved and concerned with the process of integrating students into a situation of disability and ensuring their rights
- Raising awareness of assistive technologies, the network of employers, and the opportunities for inclusion, within the facilities for students with disabilities in higher education institutions
- The necessity of preparing students in a situation of impeding the labor market and encouraging them to enter into business
