The US Administration: There is nothing new about the Moroccan Sahara
Undoubtedly, the statement issued by the spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry will make Algeria go crazy. A US State Department spokesman said, "There is nothing new about Western Sahara, and we welcome the steps taken by Morocco to develop relations with Israel, which will have long-term benefits for the two countries."
He added, "We will continue to support the UN track to achieve a just and lasting solution to this long-standing conflict, and support the mission of the United Nations Mission in the Sahara to monitor the ceasefire and prevent violence." Consequently, the suspense series over the US administration’s position on the Moroccan Sahara has ended. This statement is reinforced by its lack of it in many of my articles and media interventions, where I emphasized that it would be difficult for the American administration to reverse the decision to recognize the Moroccan Sahara.
Frankly, although all objective indications were referring to me to assert that President Biden would not take any anti-Moroccan stance, he was venturing with some anxiety and suspicion and I waited impatiently for a statement like this to give us an idea of the direction of the new administration.
Greetings to our dear friend Muhammad Al-Alami, who is jealous of his country, who was the first to spread this comforting news that offers a powerful slap to the enemies of our dear country.
