Establishment of a scientific chair for the argan tree at Ibn Zohr University in Agadir
Mr. Said Amzazi, Minister of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research, together with Mr. Idriss Awisha, Delegate Minister in charge of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Mr. Salem bin Mohammed Al Malik, Director General of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) oversaw the signing of the agreement to establish the ISESCO Chair for the Argan Tree at the University Ibn Zohr - Agadir, which is considered one of the regions rich in this distinguished tree.
This chair will be devoted to supervising research work related to ways of preserving, developing and preserving the argan tree and facilitating ways of valuing it. He will also supervise the organization of awards to encourage distinguished research work in the same field.
ISESCO will support the activities of this chair through an annual financial contribution of 20 thousand dollars over the first five years of establishing the chair.
The ceremony was attended by the secretaries-general of the three sectors in the ministry, the Secretary-General of the National Committee, the two presidents and presidents of Moroccan universities, and some central directors of the higher education and scientific research sector.
