Handball/ Laayoune hosts the 45th edition of Africain Champions League
Laayoune, the capital of our southern provinces, hosts the 45th edition of the Men’s and Women’s Champions League from October 8 to 20 of the current year. The competition will bring together no less than 16 men’s teams and 11 women’s teams, a record for such a continental event.
Raja d’Agadir, Wydad Smara and Mountada Derb Soltane are the teams which will represent Morocco with the ambition of reaching one of the places on the podium. Ambition somewhat difficult to achieve given the forces present, like the clubs of Al Ahly and Zamālek (Egypt) among others without counting the teams of Congo and Cameroon. Among the ladies, the girls from Union Nouasser will have a hard time facing the Angolan players from Petro Atletico, Primo Agosto and the Tunisian team from Sfax, the only representative of Tunisia in the strange and surprising absence of the men’s clubs (?! )
The local authorities, elected officials and the president of the federation are hard at work to make this event a handball festival, a celebration of friendship between African people, an opportunity to exchange between people who share the same love. for handball.
Laayoune is also the testimony of the enormous achievements of the Kingdom in its Sahrawi provinces in different fields including sports, with the construction of several infrastructures including two indoor halls and a third which will be inaugurated on the occasion of this 45th edition of the Championship Champion Clubs which, we have little doubt, will be a great success given the efforts made by the authorities and elected officials of the Region.
